An original illustrated route links Sri Lanka and Singapore. Real role previews, current listing counts and market landing pages turn the regional focus into the site’s visual identity.
This document records an earlier release. The navy-and-orange redesign adds dedicated career tools, remote eligibility groups, browser-stored notes and manual stages, Career Arcade, guides and more source adapters. Read the current redesign release notes for the latest implementation and source review.
What changed in the product
The previous two feeds mainly supplied international remote and European jobs. The new collection adds a Sri Lankan specialist API and three direct employer boards. Regional pages, market tabs, source freshness, a transparent skill compass and a currency comparison tool make that coverage visible and useful.

The practical supply chain is: employer or recruiter publishes a vacancy → job board or ATS exposes it → Career Vettai normalises public feed data → the candidate discovers and shortlists it → the original site handles the application. This is our architecture synthesis from the cited product and API documentation.

No paid plan was purchased, no employer was contacted, and no secret key is required for the connected feeds. Third-party plan limits and API availability can change.
A design with a reason to exist
Career Compass
Choose skills and a market. Discover roles mentioning those skills, see how many selected terms appear, and notice a related skill in the same collection. The method is visible and makes no hiring-success prediction.
Offer Lens
Explore SGD, LKR and USD equivalents using dated rates. Clear gross-amount labels prevent a currency conversion from looking like a take-home-pay calculation.
Source transparency
Employer-feed labels, source credits and a Sources page make provenance visible. Collection status can distinguish a fresh response from a recent cached fallback.
Collection and deployment controls
- GitHub Actions collects six feeds on pushes and every six hours. Employer detail requests use a small concurrency pool and limited retries.
- Descriptions become plain text, URLs are checked, and title / company / country / location matches are deduplicated with preference for an employer copy.
- Rows older than 60 days or implausibly future-dated are excluded. A failed source may reuse its last successful snapshot for up to 48 hours, with a cached label.
- A build requires both Sri Lankan and Singapore coverage. An insufficient collection fails before deployment, preserving the current public site.
- Search, market tabs, skill discovery and saved jobs run in the browser. Static detail pages, regional pages, sitemap and source guide remain compatible with GitHub Pages.
- Automated data integrity and behaviour tests cover malformed wrappers, misleading job titles, skill aliases, country filtering, duplicate preference and snapshot provenance.
Coverage is a curated sample. Public source availability can change; a fetched job is not a guarantee that applications remain open. Sponsorship and work eligibility are not inferred. No JobPosting rich-result eligibility is claimed while full expiry and application-status verification remain unavailable.
