Get to Know the Role We're looking for Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Singapore. You'll take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining critical software systems that power our internal experimentation platform and serve millions of users across the region. You'll work on visible, business-critical features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that drive business impact. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform Design and build scalable, maintainable solutions that support platform growth and reliability Deliver well-tested code and uphold engineering standards across the team Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to turn business needs into solutions Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and engineering quality through optimization and refactoring Contribute to technical design, architecture, and code reviews Troubleshoot production issues and implement measures to strengthen system reliability Mentor junior engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing Use data and experimentation to improve technical decisions, customer experience, and business outcomes Participate in on-call rotations and own incident response and resolution Stay current with industry practices and technologies, bringing ideas to the team Qualifications What Essential Skills You Will Need 5+ years of professional experience building production systems at scale Software engineering fundamentals, system design, architecture, and scalability expertise Proficiency in modern languages such as Go, Sparks, or Java Experience building and maintaining complex distributed systems at scale Knowledge of performance optimization, reliability, testing, and debugging best practices Experience designing and integrating APIs and backend services Understanding of secure coding and security-first system design Experience with experimentation, instrumentation, and data-informed development Familiarity with modern development tools, CI/CD, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development Preferrable Skills Experience with database design and optimization, microservices, or containerization Background in payments, FinTech, authentication, or other high-trust products Contributions to open-source projects or technical expertise Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle Additional Information Life at Grab We care about your well-being at Grab, here are some of the global benefits we offer: We have your back with Term Life Insurance and comprehensive Medical Insurance.
